Valley of the Sun Has Teamed Up With UMOM to Install a "Little Free Library"!

Please help to make this endeavor a success! Valley of the Sun will:                                                                  Collect funds for the donation; $500 donation per library Hold a book drive for gently used books Brainstorm ideas for our library design (color, decorations, etc.) Gather a group of volunteers to assemble and decorate the box Provide on-going maintenance See link on Valley of the Sun website for donations! After funds are collected we will need volunteers to help build the Little Free Library! We are excited and honored to provide a "take one, leave one" book station at the UMOM campus to give children and their families easy access to books 24/7!   Visit the home page of the CFMA VoS website to donate now!  

Fall' 18 Scholarship Applications Being Accepted!

Application Deadline:  May 1, 2018      It is a new year... with new tuition bills. The CFMA VOS Fall'18 scholarship is accepting applications to help ease the cost. Doug Declusin, Sunland Asphalt   Doug DeClusin is the founder and CEO of Sunland Asphalt. An active participant in the construction industry, DeClusin was Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Arizona Chapter of The Associated General Contractors in 2013 and 2014 and has been a member since 2007 and is on the Board of Directors for Pantheon Enterprises, an environmentally conscious chemical company. He is also an active member of the Executives' Association of Greater Phoenix. Doug was finalist for Construction Executive of the Year in 2009 by the Construction Financial Management Association and won the CEO of the Year award presented by Phoenix Business Journal in 2012. Thank You CFMA Volunteers! The Bureau of Labor Statistics cites that volunteers spent a median of 52 hours on volunteer activities during the period from September 2014 to September 2015. Among those who volunteered, median annual hours spent on volunteer activities ranged from a low of 36 hours for those under 35 years old to a high of 94 hours for those aged 65 and over. According to The Corporation for National and Community Service, in 2015, 1 in 4 Americans volunteered 7.9 billion hours, which equated to an estimated value of $184 billion! In fact, volunteering has increased by 60% since 1974, when President Nixon created the first National Volunteer Week! President's Letter

2018/19 Season   It's a brand-new year for CFMA Valley of the Sun and we have a lot to look forward to!   We have a couple new officers, and a few new board members to start this new year. I'd like to welcome Lisa Sullivan as our new Treasurer and Randy Brammer as our new Secretary. I'd also like to welcome Melanie Clark, Bryan Eto, Kristen Otsuka, and Jennifer Jaeger to the board of directors.   I would like to thank our outgoing Secretary Jared Asay, as well as Directors Eric Pach and Terry Rubenalt for their efforts and support of our chapter over the last several years. I'd also like to thank Michelle Walker our Past President for all of her dedication and LOVE for CFMA. She has left some big shoes for me to fill! We made a lot of progress this last year with member engagement and I'm hoping to continue and build on that! We want our members to continue to receive the maximum benefit from their membership.
