JFK was the first Certified Green Contractor through the Associated Builders and Contractors and is the first electrical contractor certified in the nation. Past-president of the Arizona Builders Alliance and Life Director where he also serves as board member and committee member with several organizations locally and nationally. Sissie Roberts Shank  President - Chas Roberts A/C & Plumbing Sissie Roberts Shank started with Chas Roberts in summer after seventh grade, filing in the accounting office.   She started doing small programming work and eventually led the company from all manual processes into the computer era.   This enabled her to learn about all the different aspects of the business from a procedural standpoint.   After her father passed away in 1999, Roberts-Shank took the CEO position at Chas. In a "good 'ole boy system", where the previous leader is not only physically imposing, (6'4, 230lbs), but also very knowledgeable on all technical aspects, she was at quite a disadvantage from the onset.   "They are never going to make it", seemed to be the mantra both internally and externally, but Chas Roberts did and it sent a message that no one person is more important than the success of the whole. Fall Semester Deadline -  April 1 Scholarship Requirements and Application The Valley of the Sun Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) will award an educational scholarship up to $2,500 in value for each semester. (Summer sessions do not qualify.) We acknowledge that one of our primary goals is education. We also acknowledge the need for qualified employees in the construction field. These needs will be filled largely by students graduating from our area schools. We hope these scholarships will prove to be an investment in the Arizona field of construction by providing promising financial/construction professionals with some assistance while completing their studies . The applicant should demonstrate the following qualities and skills: Has received or will receive a diploma from an accredited high school. Have a grade point average between 3.00 and 4.00 (if already enrolled in college or technical school) or GPA between 3.40 and 4.00 (if gr

Scott Bourdo  President - Kovach Building Enclosures Scott Bourdo earned his position as president of Kovach Building Enclosures in 2012, after 19 years of hard work, loyalty, and an uncanny "feel" for overseeing the crucial details present in a construction environment. He is the only non-family owner in the company's 46-year history. In his role as president, Scott is responsible for the daily operations; including all financial, field, and manufacturing aspects.
