Dennis Tsonis Receives Outstanding Service Award

Recently, Dennis Tsonis, Lovitt & Touché Senior Vice President, was recognized with an Outstanding Service award by the American Subcontractor Association of Arizona for his contributions towards the development of the Building Leaders Development Group (BLDG), a group designed to cultivate relationships among young (under 40) high-potential industry professionals and to enhance leadership skills through mentorship with more seasoned leaders within the construction industry.  “In the last 6 months, since the programs inception, the BLDG mentorship program has really taken off”, stated Tsonis.  “It’s been a great opportunity for current leaders to help prepare the next generation of leaders within the construction industry”, Tsonis added.  This initiative couldn’t have been possible without the entire BLDG committee, comprised of Jolene Jones from Jones Concrete Construction, Cory Albano from CEMEX, Matt Meaker from Sacks Tierney, and Jeff Byers from National Bank of Arizona.



Dennis Tsonis serves as the Construction Practice Leader for Lovitt & Touché, leading a team of construction insurance experts in serving the insurance and risk management needs of contractors, A&Es, developers and suppliers.  Over the past 28 years he has specialized in many different facets of construction risk management; including roles as a premium auditor, underwriter, underwriting manager, OCIP administrator, founding member of a construction group-captive insurance company and a broker for construction risks of all types and sizes.

A long-planned Veterans Affairs hospital being built in Denver, already hundreds of millions of dollars over its $604 million budget, has turned into a billion-dollar boondoggle for the agency. The contractor, Kiewit-Turner, blames the VA for ignoring agreements to submit plans that can be built within budget and has asked a federal board overseeing civilian contract disputes to let the company walk away from the job. During this era, eight track tapes ruled the music world. America's love of the automobile, was a driving force in creating the demand for musical cassette formats.
