President's Letter

2018/19 Season

It's a brand-new year for CFMA Valley of the Sun and we have a lot to look forward to!

We have a couple new officers, and a few new board members to start this new year. I'd like to welcome Lisa Sullivan as our new Treasurer and Randy Brammer as our new Secretary. I'd also like to welcome Melanie Clark, Bryan Eto, Kristen Otsuka, and Jennifer Jaeger to the board of directors.

I would like to thank our outgoing Secretary Jared Asay, as well as Directors Eric Pach and Terry Rubenalt for their efforts and support of our chapter over the last several years. I'd also like to thank Michelle Walker our Past President for all of her dedication and LOVE for CFMA. She has left some big shoes for me to fill!
We made a lot of progress this last year with member engagement and I'm hoping to continue and build on that! We want our members to continue to receive the maximum benefit from their membership.

Keep your eyes open for more social events this year!

Don't forget about the upcoming 2018 Executive of the Year banquet and awards on Thursday, April 26th. We've changed up the format this year with the winners being announced before the event, and a few new categories. I would encourage everyone to attend this great event where we celebrate our construction leaders within Arizona. There is still time to get registered!

One of the big topics at our strategic planning session last month was education. We are exploring ideas about holding a few different types of education events, as well as increasing the number of CCIFPs. I'm looking forward to expanding on the education events offered by our chapter!

Another opportunity for both education and engagement is the upcoming CFMA national conference being held in Miami, Florida, June 23-27. I encourage you to check out the full details and register here. There are a lot of sessions with great speakers, and opportunities to connect with members from our chapter, as well as members from across the country. We are offering four first time attendee scholarships to anyone that might be interested. You can review information and download an application here.

As you can see there is a lot going on in our chapter this year and most of these events are in the next few months. I encourage you to keep up with the weekly email communications and visit the website regularly to keep to up to date on everything that is happening in our chapter.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!!
