John Clifford Grunkemeyer III, 62, of Gilbert Arizona passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Gilbert. John was born on July 21, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and June (Holtmeier) Grunkemeyer, Jr. John was a devote Catholic and was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish, where he sang in the choir. He worked as a certified public accountant and had a passion for skydiving, gardening, and Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Bengals football. John is survived by his wife Debra Lynn Grunkemeyer; son Timothy John Grunkemeyer; his parents John Grunkemeyer, Jr. and June Grunkemeyer; brothers Mark, Michael and Anthony Grunkemeyer and sisters Julie Hoey and Loretta Riazzi. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the scholarship/tuition fund. Donations can be made check or online. Mike Markham, Sr. This year's Pioneer Award recipient is Michael Markham, Sr. Mr. Markham has been committed to the construction industry for the past 42 years after earning his B.S. degree in Construction Engineering from Arizona State University in 1973. He started Markham Contracting Co., Inc. out of his garage in 1977 and has successfully grown it to be one of the largest locally owned civil construction companies in Arizona. Since Markham's incorporation, Mike has been devoted to building an organization that does the right thing and that treats people right. In addition to his commitment to the families of Markham Contracting, he is dedicated to the construction industry. Currently he serves on ASU's Del E.
