John Clifford Grunkemeyer III, 62, of Gilbert Arizona passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Gilbert. John was born on July 21, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and June (Holtmeier) Grunkemeyer, Jr. John was a devote Catholic and was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish, where he sang in the choir. He worked as a certified public accountant and had a passion for skydiving, gardening, and Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Bengals football. John is survived by his wife Debra Lynn Grunkemeyer; son Timothy John Grunkemeyer; his parents John Grunkemeyer, Jr. and June Grunkemeyer; brothers Mark, Michael and Anthony Grunkemeyer and sisters Julie Hoey and Loretta Riazzi. The purpose of this article is to increase the awareness of the requirements related to federally funded Davis Bacon construction projects. Established in 1974, Interstate Mechanical Corp. is a mechanical contractor located in Phoenix, Arizona that specializes in HVAC within commercial construction. In the past year, we were contracted to perform specialty welding on large piping at a power plant located west of Phoenix. This project was federally financed and therefore required us to pay the prevailing wage and fringe benefits to all laborers and mechanics as specified under the Davis Bacon Act. The Department of Labor, Wage & Hour Division (DOL) is a federal agency that enforces compliance with all provisions of the Davis Bacon Act.
