2016 Construction Executive of the Year Finalist Highlight

Robert Meyers - CSW Contractors, Inc.

Robert has accumulated over 27 years of construction experience from operating equipment to his current role as Chief Executive Officer and shareholder of CSW Contractors, Inc. (CSW).  In 1993 Robert left the seasonal market in Iowa for year-round work in Arizona and founded R.J. Meyers Company - a heavy civil construction firm providing concrete construction, asphalt paving, and underground utility work with a concentration on mass excavation projects. 

In May of 2000, Robert brought the mass excavation expertise of R.J. Meyers Company to CSW as a Vice President and shareholder. Initially, he was responsible for subdivision and landfill construction oversight. In 2007, Robert redirected his focus to CSW's estimating and procurement departments where he was at the forefront of driving business development in addition to consulting with the landfill and mine support segment. In September 2010, Robert was appointed CEO of CSW enabling him to expand his business strategies and leadership across the entire organization. Under his leadership, CSW Contractors has been successfully completing noteworthy projects nationwide and has achieved an outstanding Safety record. His commitment to Partnering in the Industry has led CSW to be ranked a top Heavy Civil Contractor in Arizona.  

Robert is a LEED Accredited Professional, has been involved with the Associated General Contractors, the Alliance for Construction Excellence, and was involved in shaping an alternative project delivery contracting policy. He has also been in a leadership role for CSW's educational outreach program as an instructor for the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University.

    While some people do manage to do just that, others happen to accidentally deal even more damage. The pipelines installed in the sewerage system are quite delicate
    and might sustain damage if not handled as carefully as sewer excavation companies do. For more about Excavation Company

A long-planned Veterans Affairs hospital being built in Denver, already hundreds of millions of dollars over its $604 million budget, has turned into a billion-dollar boondoggle for the agency. The contractor, Kiewit-Turner, blames the VA for ignoring agreements to submit plans that can be built within budget and has asked a federal board overseeing civilian contract disputes to let the company walk away from the job. Problems with the building emerged in January, when letters between the builder and the VA revealed the project to be running some $200 million over budget, with Kiewit-Turner blaming a pricey design that was only partially completed by the time it entered into the contract. During this era, eight track tapes ruled the music world. America's love of the automobile, was a driving force in creating the demand for musical cassette formats. For those who grew up in this era, an eight track tape player in your home and your car was an essential. It was eventually replaced by cassette and other formats for storing music.
