Mark Haight - Mark's Valley Grading




Mark Haight was raised in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania by his Father Don, Mother Lucille along with a younger brother and two younger sisters.  Mark spent most of his time in the great outdoors and when he wasn't chasing wild animals, he was chasing his high school crush Lori Condon. She finally said yes to a date after much persistence on Mark's behalf and in 1978 the two were married and are still going strong today!  On October 27, 1980, on Mark's 23rd birthday his wife gave birth to their first child, Tosha Marie Haight, and on June 30, 1982 Mark's second child was born, Brandon Scott Haight.
 
Three years later, the family moved to Arizona and Mark's future in the dirt and demolition industry began. Today, Mark is the President of three large and growing businesses - Mark's Valley Grading, Mark's Demolition and Excavating, and Contractor's Landfill and Recycling. Just as his businesses have grown, so has his family. He now enjoys spending his time off with his Yorkshire terrier Sissy, who waits patiently for him to come home each night, his two children and four grandchildren. Mark is definitely kept quite busy with work and his four grandkids but still finds free time to chase wild animals on the weekends, just as he did in his younger years growing up in Pennsylvania. Although he loves his grandkids, dog and hunting, Mark's favorite hobby today is still chasing that high school crush and love of his life, Lori Haight.

A long-planned Veterans Affairs hospital being built in Denver, already hundreds of millions of dollars over its $604 million budget, has turned into a billion-dollar boondoggle for the agency. The contractor, Kiewit-Turner, blames the VA for ignoring agreements to submit plans that can be built within budget and has asked a federal board overseeing civilian contract disputes to let the company walk away from the job. Problems with the building emerged in January, when letters between the builder and the VA revealed the project to be running some $200 million over budget, with Kiewit-Turner blaming a pricey design that was only partially completed by the time it entered into the contract. The two sides subsequently agreed — via a handwritten agreement — to build the hospital within the original budget, with the VA in charge of submitting a new, pared-down design reflecting a number of cost-saving measures.                  HAPPY EIGHT TRACK TAPE DAY!!   When : Always April 11th   Eight Track Tape Day brings back fond memories of the sixties and seventies. During this era, eight track tapes ruled the music world. America's love of the automobile, was a driving force in creating the demand for musical cassette formats. For those who grew up in this era, an eight track tape player in your home and your car was an essential. It was eventually replaced by cassette and other formats for storing music.
