 William “Wink” Ames, a founder of Minard-Ames Insurance Services, a member agency of INSURICA Insurance Management Network, was inducted into the National Academy of Construction (NAC) on Sunday, October 20 th , during a black tie gala held at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix. The NAC recognizes individuals for their professional excellence and outstanding achievements in leadership within the construction industry. The road to membership begins with a peer-nomination and clearance procedure that is administered by a Membership Committee. The entire Academy must then approve all nominees before membership is conferred.   “Becoming an NAC member is, by far, the most outstanding honor I could ever have imagined,” said Mr. Ames. “NAC members are the titans of the construction industry. National Mole Day commemorates Avogadro's Number (6.02 x 10^23) To thoroughly enjoy National Mole Day , one must first understand what a "Mole" in Chemistry is.     A "mole" is a basic measuring unit. It equals the atomic mass of a single molecule. It is measured in grams. This measure was discovered by Italian Amadeo Avogadro. Chemistry teachers celebrate this day, by getting kids more interested in chemistry. They create special lesson and lab experiments around the theme of chemical measurements.   Why celebrate from 6:02 a.m., to 6:02 p.m? Look at the chemical formula for a mole. It starts with the number 6.02.   Origin of National Mole Day: National Mole Day was first conceived in an article in The Science Teacher in the early 1980s.

We think you know how to celebrate this day. Dress him up for the big event. Plan for a big day. Take your Teddy Bear on a tour of the workplace. Bring Teddy to lunch in the work cafeteria.
